Part 1 {Part 2 will come later because there are so many photos to sort through and I'm feeling lazy!}
We're back from our vacation! The three or should I say four of us if you include Lollie are all back from visiting Welita. A little background: my parent's entire family still resides in Mexico, and growing up we went to Monterrey every summer and every Christmas to visit with them. Some of our best memories are staying up late at night goofing off with our cousins, opening our gifts on Christmas Eve, or shopping with my Abuelita or Welita as we call her for short. While we don't go every year like we used to, we have been a handful of times in the past few years. Chris and I were so excited to have the opportunity to share Monterrey with Cassie. Besides pooping on the plane both on the way there and back, Cassie did really well for her very first plane ride. While I love my dear CB to death, she kills me sometimes because she is notorious for waiting to take care of business as soon as we leave the house. And well on that note, I digress. We flew in on Monday and were greeted at the airport by my aunt and another familiar face, Aunt Yaya! It was so nice not having to drive into Mexico in the middle of the night and feeling groggy for once. I won't bore anyone to death with every single detail so the following are just a couple of highlights from our trip.
{Lunch at one of our favorite spots, El Buey. This place started out years ago as a tiny little hut, and within the last few years the place has expanded tremendously and even has additional locations. If they could just improve their cooling system now, it would be perfect!}
anxiously awaiting our order

{A trip to the Cola de Caballo. The weather was perfect that day, we couldn't have asked for anything better.}
a very tired baby!
{A stroll around downtown, the Macroplaza, some ice cream, and a ride home on the subway....which makes me wonder why can't Houston have one like this?}

....to be continued.
