We started the day off by attending mass this morning, and surprisingly we made it there with 15 minutes to spare! That's really impressive for those of you not familiar with our tendency to run late all.of.the.time. It was a great mass and Cassie entertained herself by making funny faces at the parishioners sitting behind us for the majority of the time. We figured out her favorite part of mass has to be when the Lord's Prayer is recited. Her Papa recites this prayer with her daily so her eyes light up as soon as she hears the beginning "Our Father..." She has also figured out how to clap and quickly does so whenever the opportunity arises. Funny stuff I tell you.
The weather forecast predicted 70% chance of thunderstorms all afternoon and sure enough, our ride home from mass was exactly that + hail! I was so disappointed that Cassie's first Easter was going to be ruined by bad weather.
We finally made it home and waited for the rain to stop:
And to burn some time we took some photos for her "Aunt" Marvelia. I have a lot of respect for professional photographers because trying to keep this little girl to stay still was nearly impossible!
And then we finally made it to Grandma & Grandpa's for the Easter Egg hunt where there were plenty of sunny skies! Yay!
It's funny sometimes when I come here to update my blog with photos and stories of our daughter. For so many years, we have always spent the holidays surrounded by nieces & nephews. I can't even count how many photos I have of them dressed up in Halloween costumes, sitting on Santa's lap, ripping open presents on Christmas and birthdays, and now here we are experiencing it first hand with Cassie. It's just lovely.
