World: meet Cassandra! She was born June 9th, 2008 at 12:04 p.m., weighing 8 pounds, 14.8 ounces, and measuring 20 1/4 inches long! What a whirlwind experience it has been thus far.
In brief, her entrance into this world was a fast and remarkable one. We arrived at the hospital just a few minutes before 10:00 a.m., made our way to labor & delivery, met with the nurse, got prepped for surgery and got wheeled into the operating room. I hated being in the operating room without Chris, but before I knew it, he was by my side, and in that little minute, I suddenly felt better and not so alone anymore. And a few minutes after that, Cassie arrived! We had plenty of visits from family and good friends, all anxious to meet our new addition, but after being in the hospital for three days, we could not wait to get home. Things had been so crazy trying to prepare for her that it seemed like this day was never going to come. And then suddenly, there we were, loading into the car, on our way home, just the three of us.
It is unbelievable how much she has changed and grown in just three weeks. Our world and reason for being has totally changed. We now have this little person to nurture, love, and take care of.
