"No friendship, however brief,
can cross the path of our destiny without
leaving some mark on it forever.
-Francois Mauriac
If you know me well, you probably know that I don't have a lot of friends, nothing that I'm ashamed of or anything, but you should know that my small circle of friends are near and dear to me, even if I don't always keep in touch like I should. Between juggling work and home and trying to be the girl that has it all, the urge to pick up the phone and say hello sometimes just becomes an afterthought. And unfortunately in this day and age, sending someone an email, text message, or writing on their facebook "wall" is sometimes just a little easier. It's unfortunate that picking up the phone or handwriting a nice note and dropping it in the mailbox is considered to be a thing of the past. So even though I may not see my friends as often as I like, I always look forward to sitting down and having some good "girl" talk, and today, I was able to do just that with Christy. Each and every one of my dear friends (you know who you are) has a story, and here is Christy's in case you didn't know it already:
we met in 2003 when Chris & I moved into our very first apartment. I recognized her at the local grocery store and she thought I was crazy when I tried to strike up a conversation with her at the checkout line. Little did we know, that two years later she would travel to Cabo for our wedding, and 3 years after that, host the very best baby shower a friend could ask for at her lovely (and might I add very chic) home. So you see, just like Christy has a story, each and every other one of my friends has one too.
Sooo, if I haven't bored you to death with this post by now and you are actually still reading this, I just want to say thank you to all of you that have added a chapter to my story. And Chris and Cassie thank you too for keeping me sane. I can only hope that Cassie can grow up and have equally the great girlfriends as I do.
And of course this post wouldn't be complete without a photo right? This one is of Christy & Cassie from our visit last November.
And even better, this is a photo of her Christmas present to me, because she knows me oh so very well ;-)
