Rock-a-bye Baby

So I had one of those moments, you know, the kind that make you all sappy and almost want to cry? Cassie hasn't been feeling well for a few days now and has been fighting her naps. My usual easy sleeper hardly ever puts up a fight. She has not let me rock her to sleep for months now, and normally all I ever have to do is put Lollie down with her in her crib and just like that, she's out like a light. But not lately, and I'd like to blame this awful cold she's been hit with for her unusual crankiness. So I went to lay her down this evening and she gave me the saddest eyes, curled her bottom lip, stretched her arms out and cried, “M-a-a-a M-a-a-a.” All she wanted was for her Mama to pick her up. So I did, and quietly rocked her to sleep, it was the sweetest thing. There are some days I wish I could just freeze time and hold my baby girl for a little while longer…..
