My love for October....

Happy Birthday!

All year round, I can't wait for October to roll around. Not only is it when autumn really begins to set in, but it's also a time when I get to stop and look back or celebrate some of the most important things in my life. This October, I got to wish my Cassie Bear a happy 4 months, and my handsome hubby a happy 33!

Happy Autumn!

Exactly one year ago, we were moving out of our apartment and moving in with my parents. We had just found out that I was expecting and even though I was thrilled about the new baby on the way, I was afraid that we were pregnant and about to be temporarily "homeless." I will never forget how many times Chris told me we were going to be okay. Maybe it was just hormones, but the thought of not being "at home" scared the death out of me. So here we are a year later, and just like Chris reassured me, things are okay - actually they are better than okay! We are settled into our new home with our new baby, loving life.

So between pumpkin patches and birthdays, we also managed to squeeze in Cassie's baptism. As of the 19th, she's the newest little member to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. We are all so grateful for her new Godparents as well, her Aunt Yaya and her Godfather Jorge and for the close friends and family that were able to attend. Cassie just amazes me how sweet she really is. She smiled and grinned during the whole thing. I honestly do think we were blessed with the sweetest baby. Somebody please remind me of this in a year and a half when she hits the terrible 2's!

Life's a beach :}

And then, there was our anniversary. We have been struck with a bout of bad luck this month but we have learned to take the bad days just like we do the good ones. Unfortunately, due to our streak of bad luck, I don't think either of us had much time to think ahead and plan anything special for our anniversary this year. Chris worked late that night and I stayed home and celebrated with Cassie and a frozen pizza. But in the end, it's okay. It's not always about the fancy dinners and gifts, it's about coming home to a happy home, which is what we have, no matter how stressed out we are sometimes.
